Iveco’s Cost-Performance Truck Advantages and Stable Cooling Spare Parts Demand in Brazilian Domestic Market

Iveco holds roughly 10% market share in Brazil’s heavy truck industry, positioning itself as cost-effective option for medium-sized fleets and special-purpose vehicle transformers. Three core product families dominate local sales: Stralis highway tractors launched in 2016, heavy-duty off-road Trakker engineering trucks from 2015 and Eurocargo medium trucks for urban distribution. Stralis 440/480 Hi-Way 6×4 tractor mainly undertakes inter-city general cargo transportation; reinforced Trakker 410/450 adapts rugged mine and infrastructure construction conditions; Eurocargo 280/320 completes last-mile urban goods delivery tasks.

Iveco vehicles sell at 10%–15% lower price compared with Volvo and Scania premium products, featuring low daily maintenance expense and high compatibility for refitting into tanker, fire engine and sanitation truck, which becomes core selling points in Brazil. More than 250 official repair and spare parts service shops concentrate around São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro and Rio Grande do Sul state to sustain nationwide aftersales service system.

Original OEM radiators are supplied by Valeo, Modine and Mahle adopting separate radiator and intercooler layout. Stralis radiator core measures 920×680×42mm while rugged Trakker core is 880×650×45mm with thickened core sheet against severe working conditions. Influenced by Brazil’s perennial high climate temperature, road-going Stralis fleets replace radiators every 2–3 years, and construction-focused Trakker shortens replacement period to 1.5 years on average. Local Brazilian manufacturers Bersul and Radauto plus Nissens provide sufficient aftermarket replacement products. Brazilian spare parts distributors continuously source affordable aftermarket radiators from Chinese manufacturers with matched core sizes and installation dimensions, pushing continuous import growth of Chinese Iveco replacement radiators year by year.
